Simon started playing cricket like most children, in the back garden with his brothers and his dad. Playing in school was his next step, having great cricket mentors in Eifion Thomas and John Prickett who helped nurture his love for the wonderful game. He played throughout his school years for Dyfed and Welsh Schools respectively. Whilst representing Wales at Under 15's level he made such an impression he gained a scholarship to Millfield School in Somerset. Once there, word got out that he was bowling very quickly, and Glamorgan came to sign him up. The rest is history as they say and the 20 odd years he played as a Pro were the best they could have been. He now wants to pass his extensive knowledge onto the next generation and help develop the cricket in Wales and farther afield.
